Born the son of a powerful Seraphim general, Thranduil followed his father into the mortal realm to help in the war against the demons. Not terribly gifted in the arts of combat Thranduil helped in the back line aiding those who had suffered injuries.
After the war, Thranduil’s father was among those who fell to the temptation of Mer-Jin. Thranduil followed his father and left their people to journey across Standar. Thranduil’s father, being a war hero was made a duke and given a section of land in Sahar. But soon after the construction of the Mer-Jin temple and the taint taking over the now Nephilim, Thranduil’s father began to realize the evil that was being brought on them. He spoke out against his fellow leaders and in return was attacked for his lack of faith. Fleeing Sahar with his father, family and others who were loyal to them Thranduil made the journey west.
They ended up settling in the mountains in the eastern part of Ceertion. There Thranduil’s father declared them their own nation and him the king. He denounced their title of Nephilim and claimed to be elves. This made Thranduil the prince of a people with no land. Unfortunately, the battle with his fellow leaders had injured Thranduil’s father beyond recovery and Thranduil was tasked with caring for him over the next hundred years.
Eventually, the Nephilim had made enemies of most nations and had begun waging war off the coast of Ceertion. Many of Thranduil’s people urged for them to join the war effort against the Nephilim. But Thranduil’s father did not wish to join a war that they did not have the resources to fight.
Unfortunately, and Orcish Warband headed to aid the dwarves on the frontlines, happened upon Thranduil’s people’s land. Having no way of knowing that they were not part of the invading Nephilim army, the Orc’s ambushed Thranduil’s people in the middle of the night. Killing everyone. Including his wife and children.
Somehow Thranduil survived. On the verge of death and Left to be forgotten, Thranduil managed to recover and set off to become powerful enough to revenge his family. Hearing of powerful wizard in Ryll Thranduil headed to find her.
Arriving at her tower deep in the middle of the Endless Desert he asked for her teachings. She told him no and sent him away from her tower. Having nowhere to go and only the thought of revenge keeping him alive, Thranduil refused to leave and sat outside the tower for three months, feeding off of whatever desert life was unfortunate to come near. Eventually, seeing Thranduil’s resolve, the wizard called for Thranduil to come in.
There the wizard spent the next 500 hundred years with Thranduil as her apprentice. At the end of which she gave him his spell book and told him that she had taught him everything he could learn from inside the tower and that he must walk the earth if he wanted to grow strong enough to avenge his family.
On his Journey across the sands he heard rumors of a port city that had declined into a state of filth. Thinking this would be an excellent place to start his adventure Thranduil set off towards Port Durst
